Victoria Day has come and gone, but not without dueling BayToday letters to the editor … pro and con about the legendary monarch.
Tonight’s North Bay City Council meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. after a council “education” session in the mayor’s 5th floor boardroom that starts at 5 p.m.
Topping the agenda is a public presentation by Gisele Hebert, executive director of the Children’s Aid Society of Nipissing and Parry Sound, about the Elmwood Community Hub … which was featured in the Echo Essentials Podcast last week. See today’s Nugget feature HERE.
Council business includes committee reports supporting staff recommendations to raise transit fares and approve several rezoning applications, such as Sherwood Forest and the Highland Hills Development proposal for a 42-unit townhouse-style condominium off Bain Drive and Golf Club Road.

Gratitude
isn’t always easy
but it’s essential
JP Baldwin, a choreographer, performer, director and yoga coach, joins the To North Bay With Love podcast with host Lisa Boivin to talk about his personal journey through life and his focus on gratitude.
JP and Lisa, who met 27 years ago, break down where gratitude comes from and why it’s important to reflect on life as we get older.
“It’s really difficult because we don’t wake up grateful every day,” JP says, “you do sometimes have to really make an effort to be grateful … because it can be life is difficult. But I think through challenges, that’s where you learn a lot of things. And I think that then informs how you approach everything.”
